Full description
This project was created as an experimentation of UE5’s Lumen technology, with the only real goal being to see the capabilities of Lumen and how to set up a project to use it.
I initially began by blocking out a large-scale level, to be set aboard a space station. However, when I began placing the assets inside of what I called the ‘rock room’ I fell in love with the aesthetic and decided to focus all my efforts on making one good looking scene.
For the background of the scene, I recreated the space distance mesh from Nocturne station, while the rock assets inside of the scene were taken from Quixel internally to UE5.
For the volumetric fog throughout the level, I utilized FluidNinja VFX tools to create a light ‘creeping’ fog in the lower, recessed area around the central rock, and around a vent system on the second floor.
